The America’s Cup Races of 2017 came to San Francisco with an emphasis on sailboat technology and branding. The yellow boat in the foreground is the Louis Vuitton official timekeeping vessel. The competitors raced 72 foot long rigid wing-sailed hydrofoil catamarans. Each emphasized a home country flag and even larger corporate branding. Team USA edged out New Zealand. My painting includes the flags of the clustered vessels next to the Golden Gate Bridge in the fog.
