I love the twisted Jeffrey Pines at elevation in Yosemite park. This view takes in one of these gems at Glacier Point with Half Dome in the background.

This historic hotel is nestled into the heart of Yosemite Valley. In this view, we are seeing the stone buildings set between a green lawn and towering granite.

This spot along the Merced River is just a short walk from one of the major parking area. Still, I was able to settle in and paint on a beautiful summer afternoon with just a few people passing by on the shady trail. While I was painting, I was able to enjoy the passing of rafters and tubers cooling off in the Merced River.

I always stop at the Olmsted Point viewing area. In this view we are seeing the North side of Half Dome which is one of many granite domes in the distance.

The hike from the Tioga Road trailhead to Lutkins Lake is pretty short. You’re likely to see lots of wildflowers and chance you’ll spot a brown bear.

There is a rewarding view and unsteady feeling waiting those who climb up the Mist Trail beyond Vernal Falls to the top of Nevada Falls.

I always enjoy the hike along Tenaya Creek to Mirror Lake. There are amazing colors in the shallows here as the light bounces off of the sandy bottom and submerged rocks.

This is the oldest structure in Yosemite. It’s a sweet spot with incredible surroundings. As I painted this, I turned the chapel a bit to get just the orientation I was after.
